Supply of Editorial Content
  • Images
  • Logos
  • Illustrations

Raster Images:
Our preference for supplied images is High Resolution (300dpi at actual size) JPEG files with compression set for best possible quality (eg: 10 or 12). You may supply in either RGB or CMYK, we will convert your RGB images to CMYK in an effort to maintain best possible color results (note: certain colors can not be reproduced in CMY, this may cause color shifts when printed).

We also accept PSD, TIFF and EPS but these files are much more cumbersome to transfer over the internet as most ISP's have a 10MB transfer limit on emails, preventing files larger than 10MB from being delivered.

If you are supplying a PSD, TIFF or EPS please ensure all text is rasterized, converted to outline or you have supplied the fonts.

Size example:

if an image is going to be printed at 125mm wide then the width in pixels should be 1475px.

An easy way to test the size at which an image will print at is:
Pixels (width or height) ÷ 11.8 = Width or Height in mm.
Example: 1475px ÷ 11.8 = 125mm
Or use an application like Photoshop to view the image size in mm!

Try to avoid the following (they will only make the image quality worse!):

  • Increasing the dpi of an image in order to meet the specifications.
  • Enlarging the image in Photoshop or other image manipulation program.
  • Converting images to CMYK with default Color Settings (can cause serious colour faults when printed!)

Note: Performing any of the previous points may result in a poor quality reproduction!

Vector Images:
Please ensure all fonts are supplied or all text is converted to outline - vector is the preferred method for illustrations and logo's.

Warning:

Use of transparency can cause issues with certain RIP's, avoid its use when possible. If you must use transparency please let us know in advance so we can take steps to ensure correct reproduction.

Files can be supplied via ftp, email, on DVD, or on CD.
