The Combilift Combi-PPT has been nominated for IFOY AWARD 2019.

Last July TTN covered Combilift’s 20th anniversary and the launch of exciting new products, including the Combi-PPT. This high performance, pedestrian-operated powered pallet truck has a range of capacities up to 16,000kg, which enables the safe and secure transportation of very heavy loads without the need for a ride-on forklift. The features – which include Combilift’s unique, patented multi-position tiller arm – and design ensure optimum visibility of the load and surroundings for the operator and guarantee maximum safety in areas where other personnel may be present, such as busy production plants. The unit’s high manoeuvrability enables efficient and productive operation in confined spaces.

Now, while being rolled out to global markets, a Combi-PPT model has been nominated as a finalist in one of the most prestigious and hotly contested international awards in the materials handling industry. From a large pool of applicants, just 15 products have been selected for the IFOY Award (International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year) which honours the best products and solutions of the year. The Combi-PPT powered pallet truck with 8000kg capacity is one of three products shortlisted by the jury in the Warehouse Truck category.

Selecting the winners of the IFOY Awards is overseen by an independent jury made up of leading international logistics journalists, with a transparent judging process. Manufacturers can submit products for judging in any of 2019’s six prize categories and, during the nomination process, the jury whittles each category down to a maximum of five options that represent the best in their fields.

The competition then enters its second round (currently underway), in which finalists undergo the thorough IFOY audit and innovation check by industry experts from various technical bodies over the course of a few days in early March in Hanover, Germany. The jury, which comprises 29 journalists and editors from leading logistics media across 19 countries and four continents, will also personally test and evaluate the nominated equipment for qualities such as technology, design, ergonomics, safety, marketability, customer benefit and sustainability.

“We are delighted to be one of the ‘chosen few’ for this important award and we look forward to demonstrating the capabilities of the Combi-PPT to the judging panel in March,“ said Combilift MD Martin McVicar. “We are naturally hoping for success in our category when the results are announced on April 26th at the IFOY Award night in Vienna but are very proud to have reached the final stages, particularly considering the large number of high-quality submissions that the IFOY Award receives from major international names in the handling sector.”

The Combi-PPT is competing against the ETV 216i from Jungheinrich and the Hubtex MaxX electric multidirectional sideloader.
