The WFTN Charity Cocktail Fundraiser and Boutique Timbers Annual Timber Auction are both coming up soon.
This Saturday, 24 August 2019, the annual Women in Forests & Timber Network Charity Cocktail Fundraiser will be held at the Pineapple Hotel, 706 Mains Road, Kangaroo Point Qld from 2–5pm. The cocktail function is a chance to put on something that doesn’t necessitate high-viz and network with other women at the same time as raising money for Friends with Dignity Australia.
Friends with Dignity is a national not-for-profit community organisation providing assistance to women, men and children who have been displaced by domestic violence and assisting them to rebuild their lives with purpose, dignity and hope. They work with a network of refuges and community services to provide critical and practical services tailored to the specific needs of the individual seeking help and intervention. Friends with Dignity is completely run by dedicated volunteers who believe in a world where everyone has access to a safe and loving home, free from violence and abuse.
The evnt will be raising money for Friends with Dignity’s SOS Alarm Watch project, which assists women in life-threatening situations to immediately notify and be helped by authorities.
Tickets are only $30 each and raffles and lucky door prizes will also be held.

The Boutique Timbers Annual Timber Auction will be held from 10am, Sunday 15 September 2019 at Rollands Plains Recreation Reserve, 28 Bril Bril Road, Rollands Plains NSW. Rare and exotic timber lots on the day include over 30 lots of Huon Pine, Australian Red Cedar, Rosewood, Snakewood, Mackay Cedar, New Guinea Rosewood, Queensland Maple, Zebrawood, Gidgee, Hairy Oak, Camphor Laurel, Blackwood, Silky Oak, Red Gum, Jarrah, Buloke, Callophyllum and Blackbutt as well as other hardwoods. Boards, slabs, packs, flitches, squares, burls, burl slices are all represented with over 350 lots with low or nil reserves.
