Managing Director Shane Goodwin said the appointment is in line with the association’s focus on skills and training in the nation’s Top End.
“The HIA is pleased to announce that Neilia Ginnane has been appointed to the role of Executive Director for the Northern Territory.
“Prior to accepting this position, Neilia has been employed in the role of Skills Centre Manager for the HIA Multipurpose Training Centre in Berrimah, NT,” Mr Goodwin said.
The appointment comes during a time of growth for the NT, following the Federal Budget announcements earlier this year which included a $6 million “˜Business in the Bush’ program to address employment in the bush and rural communities, and a $4.4 million per year program “˜Training for the Future “” Employer Support Scheme’ to encourage employers to take on new apprentices and trainees.
“Neilia has played a key part in establishing the centre as the premier source of skills and training for the building and construction industry and is well credentialed to take on this role,” Mr Goodwin said.
He added that the appointment was a reflection of an emerging growth in residential construction in the Territory.
“The formation of the Multipurpose Training Centre reflects the ongoing investment in residential construction in the Territory by HIA, and we look forward to the contribution of Neilia to the continuing growth of the organisation and support of our members,” Mr Goodwin said.
Ms Ginnane is replacing outgoing NT HIA Branch Manager Dean Chambeyron.
