ASH will be joining the CFMEU to Rally on Tuesday the 21st March.

All branded trucks are encouraged to park on the foot path in front of Parliament House at 10:00am. Trucks with windows, staircases, furniture, wrapped packs of timber, etc – are all encouraged to come and show the public who will be affected!

Increased areas of the Victorian commercial forest allocation are being placed in reserves based on misinformation and an attempt to shut down your sustainable Victorian hardwood industry.

This is only the first step of a design intended to create a massive National Park with NO ACTUAL BENEFIT to the environment, economy or community.
If this timber is removed from your market, 10,000+ jobs will be affected and, at best, the replacement timber will have to be supplied from overseas resources. There is no reason to block production of hardwood in our own country. Local and imported hardwoods should be sold side-by-side in our market. They are BOTH needed!

All wholesalers, manufacturers, staff, resellers, retail shops and their families are encouraged to join the rest of the timber industry to show that you too will be affected by the unnecessary and massive reduction in Victorian hardwood volume.

The Rally will commence at Victorian Trades Hall on 54 Victoria Street, Carlton at 11.00am and finish at 1:00pm. We will march on to Parliament House.
