The Wood Flooring Association (WFA) recently welcomed Embelton as its newest corporate member and, to celebrate, the Association held its winter breakfast event at the business’s branch.
All members, and those interested in the work of the WFA, were welcome to attend.
WFA President, Peter Van Den Berghe, said the association appreciates the corporate members holding events at their premises whenever possible, particularly in the case of Embelton, as it coincided with its new membership.
“A breakfast event provides corporate members the opportunity to showcase their products and services, and it gives the members an opportunity to get answers to all of their technical and product-based questions,” he said.
The event covered various issues related to the timber flooring industry, including the growth of engineered timber products, and how an increase in multi-residential construction could provide opportunities for the industry.
Embelton Manager, Glyn Embelton, addressed the event and discussed issues prevalent within the industry today.
“Stocking solid timber can be very difficult for our industry. It is at a very low margin and supply is a very real issue.
“We need to take into consideration these facts, and that is why we – as a timber flooring merchant – made the decision a while ago to focus on engineered flooring products,” he said.
“And by doing so, it created a channel for us to enter a wider market place”.
Glyn also touched on future opportunities for timber flooring merchants in Australia and Victoria, including the growth in multi-residential property construction and the unique processes emerging from advances in technology.
Timbermate’s Errol Mymin also provided a product demonstration to a captivated audience, demonstrating a product he recently sourced in the United States that puts a stop to the common issue of a squeaky timber floor.
Embelton & Co Pty Ltd was established in 1925, and has been supplying timber flooring products for over 40 years.
