Brad De Losa crowned champion of champions in Germany

Australian Stihl Timbersports® powerhouse Brad De Losa from Lithgow, NSW, has reclaimed his title of champion of champions at the world’s toughest logger sports duel, the

Stihl Timbersports® Champions Trophy, in Hamburg Germany this May.

De Losa won first place with a time of 01.02.23, beating Canadian Stirling Hart by less than 0.5 seconds. De Losa previously won the title in 2014 (Budapest, Hungary) and 2015 (Florence, Italy).

In front of a crowd of thousands at the Cruise Center Altona, De Losa struck gold again, winning back the prestigious title of champion of champions for a third time.

The competition was really between De Losa and Canada’s Stirling Hart, who thrilled the crowd with the closest race of the night. De Losa took the lead in the Stocksaw and managed to stay ahead in the underhand chop and single buck. It looked like he was tiring on the standing block but he had done enough early on to claim the win and his third world champions trophy.

During qualifying, De Losa set the fastest time and was ranked first in the knock out ladder. He then beat Swiss competitor Christophe Geissler in the quarter final easily to set up a semi-final against Martin Komárek from Czech republic.

“I felt confident going into the competition,” De Losa says. “I’ve been training hard but I knew it would be a tough fight and much harder than the previous ones. All the guys have been putting more into their training and preparation and there are some talented younger guys in the field now. The best man won at the end of the day and I’m glad it was me”.
