North Sydney tower and Parramatta restaurant win top construction awards.
Crown Group has been awarded top prizes at the 2017 Master Builders Australia NSW Excellence in Construction Awards. Skye by Crown Group was named winner in the Residential and Mixed-Use Development Buildings, Open Price category while Crown Group’s Husk & Vine Kitchen and Bar was named winner of the Interior Fitouts $1,600,001-$2,000,000 category.
Designed by world-renowned Japanese-Australian architect Koichi Takada, 20-storey Skye features 242 apartments, an expansive foyer, ground-floor retail outlets, a top-floor gym and infinity-edged rooftop pool with stunning views over North Sydney.
Located in North Sydney, Skye aims to provide a mixed-use urban lifestyle. The iconic high-rise building features a pedestrian through-site link providing a public access between Pacific Highway and Angelo Street and a curved vertical “veil” enveloping the building’s exterior.
Judged by an expert industry panel, winners were selected based on quality of finished construction, degree of difficulty in construction, materials used, environmental and safety protocols, outcomes achieved and benefits to the community.
The infinity rooftop pool is one of many standout features which has already become an architectural centrepiece of North Sydney. Inspired by the world’s best five-star hotel swimming pools, the 25m rooftop pool sits alongside a luxury residents’ gym and lounge and is fringed by an expansive timber deck and tropical plants.
Husk & Vine
Husk & Vine Kitchen and Bar is located on the ground floor of Parramatta’s vertical village V by Crown Group at 45 Macquarie Street and caters to a range of diners from locals looking for quality modern dishes to international visitors doing business.
The interiors were created by Nic Graham with timber, leather and linen accents, while sandstones appear suspended in a mirrored infinity grid around a double-height void, a nod to the rock foundations the venue is built upon. Judges at the awards praised the capability of Crown Group to deliver the innovative interior fitouts design.
“Specific treatments, some outstanding decor and exceptional finishes capture the lifestyle of today creating a vibrant atmosphere effectively fulfilling all of the owner’s aspirations,” MBA Judges said.
